Friday, March 3 Stars and Planets and Flares! OH, MY! 6:00 p.m.
Joe Shuster and friends will be on site using powerful telescopes, including the Bonebrake Center's kid/adult telescopes, to show the mountains, plains, and craters on the crescent Moon. The planets Mars and Venus (in crescent mode, too) will be visible in the western sky early, and then later we may glimpse a bright "Iridium Flare" as the sun reflects off an unmanned satellite. Uranus may appear and, as always, there are constellations and stars visible, and this time, a star "nursery" (Great Orion Nebula) may be seen. Come dressed for the weather. There will be access to the house and light snacks. Suggested donation is $1.00 per person or $5.00 for a large family. It will be rescheduled if the weather is iffy, and you may call or text 573-247-0279 the afternoon of March 3 to check the status of the program if the sky looks cloudy. Feel free to call or text for more information.
This summer we will once again hold a 2 1/2 day camp for school-aged children up to age 12 in July. Call (573-729-3400/573-247-0279), e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org) or text (573-247-0279) if you want more information or get on this list! Enrollment is limited!
As always, there are more activities in the mill, so check back!
